Meet Sydni Deveraux, The Golden Glamazon

Sydni Deveraux, (also referred to by fans as "The Golden Glamazon") is a world-renowned classic burlesque performer, producer, educator, jazz singer, model and writer. Her extensive career has drawn acclaim from audiences all over the U.S. Canada and Europe. For many years Sydni has been one of the most prominent and well respected performers in the contemporary burlesque movement.

Sydni's stature at 6'2" contributes to a striking presence on stage. She incorporates a sense of timelessness with elegant sophistication, witty charm and musicality in each performance. Her ability to tell stories theatrically through song and dance allows her to pay tribute to the long history of classic burlesque. In addition, her unique approach to the art form makes each show distinctively hers. As such Sydni brings polish, engagement and always creates memorable shows for both small cabaret audiences and larger crowd festivals alike.

An Internationally Recognized Performer

Over a decade or so, Sydni has been featured in hundreds of performances, including shows and events at some of the most well-known theatrical venues, festivals, corporate events, private celebrations, and cabarets in North America and Europe. The long list of notable events she has performed for is too extensive to include but does include the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend, the Moisture Festival, the New York Burlesque Festival, the Amsterdam Burlesque Festival the Helsinki Burlesque Festival, the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival, Viva Las Vegas Theatre Bizarre, etc.

Sydni's passion for this artistic genre has led to her being recognized as 1st runner-up (Princess of Burlesque) at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend. In addition, she was named one of the top 50 burlesque performers by 21st Century Burlesque.

Performer, Producer, and Creative Visionary

Sydni, while out of the spotlight is a highly accomplished producer who consistently creates engaging, live entertainment that leaves a lasting impression on the audience. From intimate cabarets to full-scale burlesque revues, she brings talented performers, musicians, comedians and variety artists together to create one of a kind events that leave a lasting impression.

She is also well known for being the long-time producer of Burlesque Behind the Pink Door. This was Seattle's longest running weekly burlesque show. It has been held at The Pink Door, located within Pike Place Market.

Inspiring the Next Generation

As a seasoned teacher, Sydni's work as an educator has included instructing dancers from around the globe at dance events (conventions) as well as festivals, workshops, and private instruction. Her teaching covers many areas of study, such as: fundamental techniques to performing striptease; burlesque and its connection to movement; developing your sense of rhythm and musicality; how to command attention on stage; confidence building; learning to walk in high-heeled shoes; planning a show that will be financially successful; and providing constructive criticism during performances.

A Passion for Music

Sydni has also developed into a professional jazz singer inspired by legends in this genre such as; Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis. Sydni creates each vocal performance with elegance, sophistication and a classic touch that she draws from the music of these legendary artists. She performs at wedding ceremonies, cocktail parties, corporate events, festivals, and private events and adds an elegant musical element to all of them.

Sydni's classic looks and presence have given her a strong base to work as a model. Sydni has been featured in editorial, pin up, artistic and commercial photo shoots. She has worked with several of the top photographers, designers, and creative professionals to create an image that is both vintage glamour and sophisticated today.
